Getting Here

Llan Festiniog is known as 'Ffestiniog' or 'Llan' locally and appears on Google maps as Ffestiniog. It is located 3.5 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog which has a train and bus service. You can enter the village from many directions:

  • From the A55 running across North Wales,  the scenic route down the A470 will take you past Bodnant Gardens (National Trust), which is definately worth a visit, and towards Betws y Coed then across to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
  • From Bala the B4391 drives you over the Migneint Moorland which a wonderful way to approach the village. Don't miss the Roman Bridge. Very scenic route but best avoided in bad weather.
  • From the south you can come up from Dolgellau on the A487 and turn off the main road to climb up to the village.
